Presidentja e Komisionit Evropian Ursula Von Der Leyen shprehu optimizëm të martën se një vaksinë koronavirusi mund të godisë tregun “mbase para vjeshtës”.

Ky afat kohor është shumë më i shpejtë nga sa parashikohet nga autoritetet e shëndetit publik, të cilët presin një vit tjetër deri në 18 muaj që një imunizim të jetë i disponueshëm për publikun e gjerë.

Në një video, Von Der Leyen iu referua bisedimeve me CureVac, një kompani bioteknike që po punon për një vaksinë kundër koronavirusit. BE i ka ofruar kompanisë 80 milion € në mbështetje financiare.

“Shpresoj se me këtë mbështetje, ne mund të kemi një vaksinë në treg, ndoshta para vjeshtës,” tha ajo.
